Easy As Pie

Dinner Idea
Fat full but the ease is so worth it!
Ingredients: Cooked chicken, crescent rolls, chive cream cheese
Step 1: Cook chicken (I use 2 breasts~firm and perky of course!) I add salt, pepper and garlic.

Step 2: Open crescent rolls. Make sure to scream when they unexpectedly "POP" open and smear with chive cream cheese.
You with me so far?

Step 3: Place cooked chicken at wide end of crescent roll and...ROLL!
(Is it just me or could this potentially be a diagram of the female parts? Whoops, there goes the appetite~sorry!)

Step 4: Bake according to the crescent roll directions.
Voila! (just for you Mimi)
Note: I use two crescent roll packages (8 per package), about 3/4 of the tub of cream cheese and 2 chicken breasts. This feeds my family and leaves enough for me to have lunch the next day.
Serve with a veggie out of the can and a side of applesauce. Fancy!
Be sure to wear THIS while baking!

I'm writing that one down. :) I wonder if you could sneak some veggies in there too somehow?

We also like chicken (cooked and cut into chunks), add chopped celery, chopped pecans, dried cranberries, shredded cheddar, toss together. In separate bowl mix mayo and mustard, sage, and pepper. Combine the dressing with the chicken mixture and roll into the crescent rolls. Bake. (It's great with left-over Thanksgiving turkey instead of chicken.)

The chicken salad mixture can also be served cold. We did a tea party ala Alice in Wonderland for one of Aarika's birthdays with heart-shaped bread mini sandwiches, rose-shaped white chocolates, "eat me" frosted cookies (they don't actually make you grow bigger, btw), warm spiced cider, etc. WAY fun.

P.S. if you either do a lot of baking OR hate scrubbing Pam/misc baking residue off your pan, you really should try a Silpat. First touted on Martha Steward, I gagged every time I saw her bake on her Silpat, thinking "there's another stupid overpriced gadget that I can totally live w/o."

Fast forward to now. I own one Silpat. At $20 a piece, I'm ready to buy a second (to make cookie turnover faster, you know...). I Luuurve my Silpat. :) Nothin' sticks to it!
